The short answer is yes. Read on for some insight into dental insurance.

Dental insurance is not the same as medical insurance - in fact, it is the opposite in terms of covering procedures. Medical insurance pays for services once you hit your deductible; dental insurance STOPS paying for services once you reach your deductible, or yearly limit. It is important to understand that dental insurance is merely a discount plan. It should also be noted that the yearly maximums (about $1000-2000) for insurance have either remained stagnant or gone down since the 1970s. 50 years ago, $2000 was a lot of money - it could nearly buy you a car. Now it barely pays for one tooth that may need extensive work. Choosing to go in or out of network will make very little difference if any major work is needed.

We are considered unrestricted providers which means that we accept all PPO plans that allow you to visit a provider of your choice. We are willing to work with every insurance that is willing to work with us; we do not discriminate, unfortunately they do. If you do have an insurance plan that doesn't allow you the freedom to choose your own dentist, you may have the power to change it. Your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company that is purchased by your company. We believe that you should have a choice in your provider and the quality of treatment that you deserve. We do not believe in cutting any corners with regards to care, we do not believe in compromising quality in order to increase the number of patients, and we do not believe in barriers or restrictions created by insurance to limit your access to needed care.
